When you're in northern CA you should always try to make a stop in Redwood National and State Park. I took a lot of photos and some video here walking through the trails and driving down the roads, but this photo is one of my favorites. It's from a trail called Cathedral Tree Trail. The trail was spectacular, but when I turned a corner and saw this narrow beam of light coming down in the middle of a group of trees in a circular pattern with the light beam perfectly visible through an opening between two trees in an otherwise shadowed landscape I viewed it in awe just as I've done while viewing some of the spectacular cathedrals in Europe. I could see why they chose Cathedral Tree as the name for this trail.
