Description
This photo is from Rattlesnake Canyon which is close to the famous Antelope Canyon, but it's not as well known and definitely visited far less because it's a private canyon where only a couple of companies have permits to bring people in. These canyons are on Navajo land and you can't go into any of the areas without a Navajo guide. Upper Antelope Canyon was absolutely incredible and it's hard to describe its beauty, but it's also more congested even though the guides do a good job controlling people coming into your shots. I have a new appreciation for amazing photos in that canyon because of the various levels of difficulty involved in getting them.
Rattlesnake Canyon was like heaven though because Stephen and I were the only 2 people in there and we had all the time we wanted in order to set up our tripods and make our way through it. We kept telling our guide to let us know if we needed to hurry up. As you can see it's a very narrow canyon, there were some parts of it where I was glad I had a light breakfast so I could squeeze through. The colors, lines, textures, light and shadows, along with the tranquility, made it a fantastic canyon to explore.
