The thing that initially caught my eye in Havana was the laundry hanging out of most every balcony or window, and I became fascinated with it. It was almost like artwork adorning the sides of the buildings with the colors and variations and movement in the breeze. However, it was focusing on the laundry that drew my eye to something else which was the people who were hanging out on their balconies looking down on all of the activities in the streets. I normally don't like to photograph people unless the photos are candid shots, but the people of Cuba totally fascinated me, from the young laughing and smiling children to the elderly with their mainly serious and focused expressions.
