Description
The total lunar eclipse on January 20th is occurring while the moon is near it's closest point to Earth for the month, which some call a "supermoon." January's full moon is also known as the Wolf Moon. A Blood Moon is a phenomenon whereby the moon in total eclipse appears reddish in color as it is illuminated by sunlight filtered and refracted by the earth's atmosphere. That's led some to christen the January 20th lunar event a Super Blood Wolf Moon. The next full lunar eclipse will happen in 2021.
